Our Wagons

The head wagon boasts a storied history. Formerly the lead wagon for Texas Independence, it was later acquired by the Hughes family before becoming the Texas Renegade Outriders’ flagship wagon and joining the Salt Grass Trail.

The second wagon is a remarkable piece of history in its own right. Originally a 1909 International Harvester farm wagon, it was converted to a covered wagon. In 2022, this wagon retraced history, traveling nearly 600 miles along the Great Western Trail, echoing the journeys of cattle drive wagons from Buffalo, Oklahoma to Bandera, Texas. Now, it rolls in parades, trail rides, and special events under the expert care of Debra Slate who owns and operates Wagon Rides of Bandera.
